Emilio Botín O’Shea is Chairman of MiraltaBank and of the fund management company Miralta Asset Management SGIIC, S.A.U. In 2010, he founded the trading company, Rentamarkets (now Miraltabank), as a majority shareholder, with José Rodríguez Pérez and Ignacio Fuertes to solve the investment needs of institutional investors in the fixed-income and foreign exchange markets.

Emilio has almost three decades of experience in financial markets and risk management. Before founding Rentamarkets, he was also the Founding Partner, Chairman and majority shareholder of hedge fund manager Vega Asset Management (VAM), which became the leading global alternative macro manager in Europe with over $13 billion under management.

Before that, he was on the board of Banco Santander from 1989 to 2005, where he also served as Deputy CEO and Head of Treasury and Financial Markets. He was Vice Chairman of Structured Products at the US investment bank Bankers Trust. Emilio holds a BA (Hons) in Business Administration and Economics from Brown University (USA).

Emilio posee una extensa experiencia de casi tres décadas en los mercados financieros y la gestión de riesgos. Antes de fundar Rentamarkets, también fue Socio Fundador, Presidente y accionista mayoritario de la gestora de hedge funds Vega Asset Management (VAM), la cual llegó a ser líder en gestión alternativa global macro en Europa con más de 13.000 millones de dólares bajo gestión.

Anteriormente formó parte del consejo del Banco Santander entre 1989 y 2005, donde trabajó también como director general adjunto y responsable de la Tesoreria y Mercados Financieros. Fue vicepresidente de Productos Estructurados en el Banco de Inversiones americano Bankers Trust. Emilio es licenciado con honores en Administración de Empresas y Económicas por la Universidad de Brown (EEUU).

José Rodríguez Pérez is Managing Director of MiraltaBank and Miralta Asset Management SGIIC, S.A.U. and a member of the Investment Committee.

José boasts 31 years of experience in global financial markets and specialises in proprietary trading and management. He managed the first fixed-income Hedge Fund in Spain in the 90s, in the Treasury of Banesto and was also Portfolio Manager of the Global Macro fund of Vega Asset Management.

He has worked as Trading Director at Banco Santander, Bankers Trust and Banesto and was Deputy CEO of Próxima Alfa, the second largest hedge fund firm in Spain, until its sale in 2008 with almost $3 billion worth of assets under management. José holds a PhD and a degree in Economics with a specialisation in Macroeconomics from the Complutense University of Madrid.

Ignacio Fuertes Aguirre is Partner and Investment Director of MiraltaBank.

With over 20 years of experience in capital markets and trading, Ignacio began his career in the Institutional Fixed Income area at Merrill Lynch Capital Markets in London.

He worked at Vega Asset Management as head of execution and trader on the Vega Global macro fund. Then he was the manager of the Accurate Global Asset fund, an investment vehicle based on the algorithmic strategies of the fund manager Próxima Alfa.

Ignacio holds a degree in Systems Engineering from the University of Richmond (UK) and a Master’s in Portfolio Management from the Instituto de Estudios Bursátiles (IEB).

Ángel Fernández-Pola is Partner and Managing Director of Miraltabank and, along with Ignacio Fuertes Aguirre, José Rodríguez Pérez and Antonio Fraile Fernández, form the Investment Committee of Miralta Asset Management SGIIC, S.A.U.

In his 27 years of experience in the international financial sector, Ángel has spent most of his career in the Santander Group as Managing Director of Fixed Income in the global wholesale banking division. He also developed the Capital Markets and Debt business at Arcano Group.

Ángel holds an MBA from IESE, an International MBA from ESDEN Business School and a Master’s in e-Business from IE in Madrid.

Inmediatamente antes de incorporarse a Miraltabank (antes Rentamarkets),  fue director ejecutivo de inversiones indirectas inmobiliarias y derivados de inmobiliaria en RBS. Ian cuenta asimismo con una experiencia de nueve años en Brains Inc Ltd. en Londres, especializado en titulizaciones de hipotecas inversas, hipotecas de shared equity y otras formas de riesgo inmobiliario indirecto. Ian es licenciado con honores en la Universidad de Oxford (Inglaterra).

Con más de 15 años de experiencia profesional en mercados internacionales, Guillermo ha trabajado en distintas áreas de la banca de inversión en Madrid, Londres y Copenhague. Antes de comenzar en Saxo Bank, Guillermo trabajó para The Royal Bank of Scotland en el departamento de banca privada y fue socio fundador del Club de Inversión Francisco de Vitoria, estando en la dirección del mismo durante sus dos primeros años.

Guillermo es licenciado en Económicas por la Universidad Complutense de Madrid y cuenta con un MBA por el IESE.

En 2010 fundó el Club de Emprendimiento del Executive MBA del IESE de Madrid, del que ha sido presidente en los últimos años. Desde hace varios años colabora con varias escuelas de negocios impartiendo clases de dirección y asesoramiento financiero, en especial con el ISIE, escuela en la que colabora en varios programas desde su fundación.

Juan es licenciado en Derecho por la Universidad Complutense de Madrid, Máster en Finanzas por CUNEF y Executive MBA por el IESE.

Head of Legal Services – Compliance

Myriam Elizalde Canal has 20 years of experience advising financial sector entities and other national and international companies. She began her professional career at Uría y Menéndez, where she practised law for eight years, two of which were spent in the firm’s São Paulo office.

She specialises in commercial and regulatory law. Myriam has been a lawyer at the management company Próxima Alfa (a group where she worked with José Rodriguez and Ignacio Fuertes), the Asturian group TSK and has advised smaller firms on her own account.

Myriam holds a double degree in Law and a Master’s in Stock Exchange and Financial Markets from the Instituto de Estudios Bursátiles.

De sus 28 años de profesional, 24 se han desarrollado en el sector financiero, comenzando su carrera profesional en el Departamento de Tesorería y Mercado de Capitales de Banco Santander y pasando por distintas Áreas de Gestión de la misma. Tras 9 años en el Banco, se incorporó al equipo fundador de la gestora de Hedge Funds Vega Asset Management (VAM), donde desempeño funciones como Director del Área de Operaciones y posteriormente Director de la Unidad de Control.

En VAM, y en distintas épocas a lo largo de una década, coincidió con Emilio Botín, Jose Rodríguez e Ignacio Fuertes lo que fue determinante para que, a mediados de 2012, se uniese de nuevo a ellos en el proyecto que dos años antes habían fundado, Rentamarkets Sociedad de Valores. (Ahora Miralta Finance Bank S.A.

Manuel es licenciado en Económicas por la Universidad Complutense de Madrid y cuenta con un PDG por el IESE.

Desde su incorporación a Miraltabank es el gestor principal de uno de los vehículos especializado en ABS, así como de varios mandatos de gestión dedicados en titulizaciones españolas.

Domingo es Licenciado en CC. Económicas por la UCM, donde curso también tres años de Ciencias Físicas. Posee un Master especializado en Fiscalidad por el CEF, habiendo sido Profesor destacado en el módulo de opciones exóticas dentro del Master en Finanzas de la Universidad San Pablo CEU.

Antonio has 22 years of experience in asset management. He began his professional career at Banco de España, within the Foreign Securities department for reserve management and from there he has developed his career in different first level national entities as portfolio manager, funds and Sicavs, through direct assets and third party funds within the field of multi-management.

He has participated intensively in the development of quantitative and risk analysis systems applied to both own management and dedicated advisory mandates to institutional clients.

In 2011 he joined Miraltabank as a fixed income trader developing a deep knowledge of the Spanish ABS market.

Antonio holds a degree in Economics and Business Administration from UCM, with a PhD in Financial Economics from UAM. He holds a Master in Portfolio Management from the IEB and in 2008 he obtained the PRM accreditation from the Professional Risk Managers’ International Association (PRMIA), being the first person in Spain to obtain this qualification as an investment manager.

Es licenciado en Derecho por la UNED y además cuenta con el Master en Mercados Bursátiles y Derivados de la UNED, es experto en Gestión de Carteras con Derivados por el Instituto BME, experto en Gestión de Carteras por el IEB y experto en Valoración de Empresas (Certifi- cación CEVE) por el Instituto Español de Analistas Financieros (IEAF).

Juan Pablo Calle is a Portfolio and Fund Manager at Miralta Asset Management SGIIC, S.A.U., and is in charge of Portfolio Management within the management company.

He has 20 years of experience in financial markets. He began his professional career at Urquijo Gestión, where he managed Investment Funds and Sicavs. Then, he was Investment Director at BancSabadell Pensiones and head of alternative management. He left BancSabadell to manage hedge funds and quantitative strategies, first at Próxima Alfa and later at BlackOnyx where he was a founding partner.

Juan Pablo holds a degree in Mathematics, specialising in Statistics and Operations Research, a Master’s in Portfolio Management from the IEB and a Master’s in Artificial Intelligence applied to Financial Markets from the BME Institute.

Ignacio Albizuri Delclaux joined Miraltabank to drive the development of this business segment and increase the investor base. Ignacio Albizuri came from JFD Bank, where he had been Managing Director for Iberia and Latam since May 2019.

Before that, Albizuri developed various functions linked to business development, primarily in the brokerage area for companies such as GKFX, FxPro, DeltaStock, Xtrade, Société Générale and Deutsche Bank, where he began his career in 2006 as a private portfolio manager.

A graduate in Law and Economics from the University of Deusto, he holds various certifications, such as the Advanced Financial Supervisory Framework.

Víctor Mir specialises in wealth management and is Head of Retail Business at Miraltabank.

With 17 years of experience in wealth planning and management, Víctor began his career at Banco Mediolanum, continued his work at Santander Private Banking and spent the last few years in the Private Banking department of Banco Mediolanum.

Víctor has postgraduate training in Wealth Management and Private Banking, Real Estate Credit Contract Law, EFA level II, Tax Management and Business Administration and Management.

Gustavo Caballero is a member of the Credit Committee of Miraltabank and the Investment Committee of Pulsar FIL I/II.

He has 18 years of experience in Corporate Banking and Investment Banking in several institutions, such as Banco Santander, Grupo Arcano…

In Corporate Banking, he worked in syndicated loans, debt restructuring and corporate banking.

In Investment Banking, he has been engaged in investment needs, especially fixed income, and formed part of debt origination teams of several organisations and head of the Debt Capital Markets department.

He holds a degree in Business Administration and Management (ESERP) and a Master’s in Finance from IE Business School.
